TITOBA On Net organized an informal get-together of TITians on 24 July, 2010 at Jashn banquets, Gurgaon. The event was generously supported by B. S. T. Textile Mills Pvt. Ltd., courtesy Mr. Mukesh Tyagi, 1983 batch. The informal get-together was very well attended, and might be the biggest ever gathering of TITians ever organized, outside the college campus.
The informal re-union saw the coming together of close to 140 TITians, ranging from the senior-most TITian present in the gathering, Mr. H. P. Gupta, from 1956 batch, to Mr. Amit Saini, a student from 2011 batch, who is currently doing his internship. It is quite interesting to note that there was a large number of TITians from junior batches, who all seemed to be quite happy to be with their seniors and super-seniors.
We have compiled a list of TITians who attended the get-together on 24th July, 2010. Click here to view the list of attendees. Just in case you were present and your name is missing, please do write back and let us know so that we may add your name.
The TITians present had the privilege of being in the august company of Prof. R. C. D. Kaushik, who specially travelled from Kurukshetra, to be with TITians, on this occasion. For the sake of junior batches, it needs to be mentioned that Prof. Kaushik had a four decade long association with the college, and there is not an iota of doubt in the fact that he steered the institution for almost three decades and was instrumental in making it one of best textile institutes in the world.
The gathering was graced by Dr. Rishi Jamdagni, a TITian from the 1976 batch, and currently the Director of the institute. Dr. Jamdagni extended an invitation to all TITians to visit the institute, and shared his thoughts and ideas regarding strengthening the alumni network.
Mr. Ashok Juneja, 1981 batch, was felicitated, during the program, for having become the National Vice President of the Textile Association (India) for the third consecutive term. Let us all wish that he gets elevated to the position of the President of TAI in the next term.
TITOBA ON Net would like to thank the TITians who came forward and supported TITOBA ON Net in organizing this get-together.
Without the support that came in from B. S. T. Textile Mills Pvt. Ltd., it would have been impossible for TITOBA ON Net to bring together such a large number of TITians, under one roof. TON acknowledges the contribution made by Palm Exports, Filatech Enterprise Pvt. Ltd., Genext Logistics Pvt. Ltd., Kiran Polyfab Pvt. Ltd., and HPG Global towards the return gifts for all TITians who attended the program.
Further, Mr. Mukesh Tyagi, while addressing the gathering, said that TITOBA On Net is the Google of TITians. He appealed to all fellow TITians to come forward and strengthen TITOBA On Net in all possible ways. Appreciating the work being done by TITOBA On Net in connecting and bringing together TITians who are spread all over the world, Mr. Tyagi announced that he would be contributing Rs. Twenty Five Thousand to TITOBA On Net. True to his words, Mr. Tyagi sent a cheque for this amount within a few days of returning to Mumbai.
A special mention needs to be made of Devanshi Arts and Mr. Vineet Gera, 2001 for making all the arrangements for the evening. The credit for the look and feel, ambience, and excellent food and drinks arrangements goes to Mr. Gera.
